King City isn’t a typical suburb. Your dog training shouldn’t be either.
King City is horse country. Estate lots. Multi-acre properties. Long driveways. Wildlife everywhere. The dogs that live here face a completely different set of challenges than a downtown Toronto condo dog.
Most training facilities are 30 to 45 minutes away. And even if you make the drive, the training happens in a controlled environment that looks nothing like your property. Your dog learns to sit in a parking lot. Great. Now try getting them to recall when a deer crosses your backyard.
That’s why we bring the training to you.
What King City dogs actually need
After working with dozens of King City and York Region estate owners, here are the issues we see most:
Perimeter control. Your property has no fence, or a fence your dog can clear. You need reliable boundary training so your dog stays on your lot without bolting.
Wildlife recall. Deer, coyotes, rabbits, turkeys. King City is full of triggers that city dogs never encounter. Your dog needs a recall that works even mid-chase.
Off-leash property freedom. You bought acreage so your dog could roam. But without training, “roaming” becomes “disappearing for 45 minutes.”
Guest and delivery reactivity. Long driveways mean your dog hears vehicles approaching from a distance. By the time the person reaches the door, your dog is already at a 10.
Other animals. Horses, livestock, barn cats. Your dog needs to coexist calmly with other animals on or near your property.
How in-home training works for estates
A senior K9 Academy trainer drives to your King City property. We work on your grounds, in your home, along your driveway, near your perimeter. Real training in your real environment.
We use e-collar protocols that are especially effective for large-property dogs. The e-collar gives you reliable communication at distance, which is critical when your dog is 200 feet away and a deer just appeared.
Sessions are 60 minutes, $625 each, plus a travel fee for King City. No commitment required.
Other options
If you’d rather have your dog trained intensively, our Board and Train program at our Stouffville facility (about 25 minutes from King City) is the fastest path. $2,995 for 2 weeks, up to $4,995+ for 8 weeks of severe behaviour modification.
Our Stouffville facility is in Gormley, which many King City residents already know. Rural, purpose-built for training, with fields, trails, and real-world distractions.
